Executive Director, National Churchill Museum
At Westminster College, Fulton, MO

The Executive Director reports to the President, Westminster College, and serves as the leader of the National Churchill Museum and is solely responsible for supervising all aspects of the Museum’s operation, to include: leadership, mission, vision, strategic planning, management, finance and budgeting, fundraising, facilities maintenance, retail operations, special activities, and programs, including the College’s Museum Studies Program. The Executive Director, National Churchill Museum, also serves on the Westminster College cabinet and provides appropriate advice, representation and support to the President and to several committees and subcommittees of Westminster College and its Board of Trustees. The Executive Director will work closely with the College cabinet to advance the educational goals of the College, to actively support development and fundraising activities of the Museum and College, to ensure financial and budget activities of the Museum are coordinated with the college, and to support college programs. The Executive Director will also hold the position of Sandra L. and Monroe E. Trout Endowed Professor of Churchill Studies and will be expected to teach at least one course each year.

Required Qualifications:
JOB REQUIREMENTS: •Education: An advanced degree in Modern History or a discipline related to Anglo-American Studies suitable for an endowed professorship; an earned doctorate is preferred. •Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in leadership and management, strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, and marketing of not-for-profit museums and/or historic sites, or institutes in a closely related field. Experience in higher education and a record of publications and scholarship suitable to an endowed professorship. Knowledge of relevant organizations and bodies in the United Kingdom, given the aims and intentions of the Museum, is also significant. •Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communications skills are required. -Strong business and financial management skills—planning, programming, budgeting—are required. -Must possess strategic planning, fundraising, and marketing skills. -Must have ability to interact with all constituencies of the College (internal and external). -Must have ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. -Must have ability to communicate with and comfortably interact with the media. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct oversight and supervision of the following positions: -Assistant Director, Archivist/Curator-Archivist, Director of Development, Eucation and Public Programs Coordinator, Museum Store and Front Desk Manager, Administrative Assistant
