The Missouri Association for Museums and Archives (MAMA) acts as a collective voice for the Missouri museum and archives community both statewide and nationally. MAMA monitors legislation that may affect museums and archives in the state. Board members have testified on legislation in Jefferson City as well as met with state and national elected officials. MAMA participates in Museums Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. each year. This event is coordinated by the American Alliance of Museums. In addition to sending representatives to the event, MAMA provides a packet of support materials for each site visit. 2021 Missouri Museums Economic Impact and Date Sheet For more information about participating in Museums Advocacy Day, please email advocacy@missourimuseums.org MAMA provides visibility and connections for the 600+ museums and archives of the state.
