Three years ago, the Missouri Historical Society began an initiative to collect and document the histories of LGBTQIA+ communities in St. Louis. This year the first iteration of the project, Gateway to Pride, a virtual exhibit, was launched and a second will culminate with the opening of a gallery exhibit in 2024. Join MHS’s Sharon Smith, Curator of Civic and Personal Identity, and Ian Darnell, curatorial assistant for the LGBTQIA+ collecting initiative, for a discussion of their efforts to preserve and display an untold piece of the city’s history. This Colleagues Conversation will be moderated by Christopher Alan Gordon.

MAMA thanks the Missouri Humanities Council for support of this programming.
